Great Book.....
I read a post not to long ago at http://chicky-bit-run.blogspot.com/ about a good book, Homemade By Reader's Digest. This is a very cool book, I have only had it for a few days and can't put it down. It is full of great info and I have Andrea at Chicky-Bit-Run to thank for my new book. I had never even heard of this book till I saw it at her blog. It's great to find new info and share it, so I plan to share some of the info from this book from time to time. If you find this book I would say to buy it, because it has great info in it.
Homemade Laundry Soap
1/2 cup soap flakes
1/2 cup baking soda
1/4 cup washing soda
1/4 cup borax
1 clean 16-ounce plastic container with lid
1. To make the soap flakes, lightly grate a bar of pure soap, such as Ivory and use a coarse kitchen grater.
2. In a large bowl mix all the ingredients together. Store in a tightly sealed plastic container.
3. Use about 1/2 a cup of the mixture instead of detergent in each load of laundry.
This basic laundry soap gets clothes as clean as those fancy single-name commercial cleaners; it just cost a lot less.
