Hot Here Today....

It's 104* here today and looks like we will have a very hot summer. We had a power outage yesterday for about 5 hours. It got up to 80* in the house, we had to go out to the pool to cool off. It was at that point me and my wife said, "We need to get out of this state" not just because of the heat but because this place sucks. The gun laws suck and the state is broke, and I could go on for days about why we want to get out of here. We had said in January we would like to get out of here by June of next year, but now we would like to get out by the end of this year. We have been looking around for a good place to move to. We liked Denver and we have about three other states we liked so from now till the end of the year we will be looking for that next place to live.
I did get to work on my preps this weekend and have a plan for more dry goods for the food saver. I need more oats, brown sugar, rice, beans and salt, so this weekend I plan to get a good bit of that done. I am trying to get as much prepping done as I can because I think our time is short. Keep up the prepping work and keep an eye out for the NWO........

  2. I too have been struggling with this decision.
The wifey and I would like to move outta this hell hole of a state. I'm in a unique position with my job as there is a branch of my company in almost every state. Problem being is that they are in or close to large cities and then I have to wait for a job opening. I'm thinking of mid-atlantic states. Probably KY. or TN. Still up in the air though. IMHO, its lookin like it may be too late to get established somewhere else.
    Good luck to ya.

  3. Feel your pain, I am stuck in Illinois (worse gun laws and broker than CA). It worried me for a while but remember, there is no telling how this is going to go down. Imagine if you had relocated to an awesome homestead on the beautiful gulf coast last year...

  4. There is always west Texas, there's still lots of wide open spaces, gun laws are fairly lax, in some places it's still very much the wild wild west. :) There is lots of sun for the solar panels and solar water heating, it is desert though, I love it, but not everyone does...

  5. I like Ohio. Fairly predictable weather. Not much in the way of extreme temperatures. Decent growing season. Still a good deal of open land. Good football teams. Plenty of wildlife and water. Oh, and the Castle doctrine.
