Yard Sale....

Went well today and we made our trip to Wal-Mart to shop for dry goods. We got 25 lbs. of rice, 25 lbs. of red beans, 10 lbs. of black beans, 12 boxes of grits, 12 boxes of salt, and 20 lbs of sugar. We didn't get any oats today they were out of the store brand and I'm not going to pay for name brand when the store brand is cheaper and the same thing so I will wait on the oats. I got a few boxes of bags for the food saver to bag this stuff up with. And I saw the 1 lb LP tanks at Wal-Mart 2 for $4.97 so I got 10 of them and my new grill will burn for 1.1 hours at full heat and 2.25 hours at half heat, so if I go by the numbers I got 22.5 hours of cooking time. I will keep adding to my fuel every week. I know how to cook with wood and know I will have to at some point but I would like to cook the easy way for as long as I can. I also got five small bricks of 22LR today at Wal-Mart it's the 333 Winchester 22LR it is a smaller brick because it only has 333 rounds in the box, plus I paid $11.97 for the small brick and just over a year ago I could buy a 550 round brick of Federal 22LR for $9.97. I'm sure the day's of cheap ammo of the shelf at a store are long gone. All and all after the shopping trip to Wal-Mart, a full tank of gas, and going out to a late lunch with the little lady we still were able to put $150.00 away for the next trip.
Hope you all have a great weekend and keep up the prepping because evil is near and the collapse is close behind.
And for you guys who hate Wal-Mart I'm sorry but they have the best deals in town so thats where we shop.

  2. chinasyndrome you are right I went back and looked at the recept and I was charged $13.97 but I remember it being $11.97 or maybe I'm going crazy. I have to go back tomorrow to get more food saver bags so I will check it out and if it's marked wrong I will buy more and make them give me the posted price.

  3. FYI

Sams Club is selling the food saver bags pretty cheap, they have a box with 3 rolls of the reg. bags and 2 rolls of the 8" bags, and a butt load of the one gallon bags for 39 bucks.
