How to Prepare for Collapse

Step 1 Only buy what you need. Don't spend a penny more than what you must, and be frugal in what you buy. Buy used whenever possible, and go for quality over quantity. Save, re-use, and do without when you have to. Remember all those stories about your grandmother walking 10 miles daily barefoot in the snow? We need to do the economic equivalent and use the wisdom of our elders to learn to be frugal and spend wisely.

Step 2 Get out of debt and start saving money. The dollar is sure to plummet even more in the face of world economy collapse, and evidence shows that gold prices rise when the dollar decreases in value. Investing in gold may be the way to go rather than cash savings. Gold and silver coin investing can help you preserve the value of your money if the dollar sharply plummets. Gold and silver retains its value, and can be traded or used to purchase good and services. If there is no extra money to pay down debt or start saving, focus on necessities like housing, food, and supplies.

Step 3 Be creative about sources of income. As more large corporations go under and thousands of jobs are lost, think outside the box for ways to bring in additional income. Examples of ways to earn extra money include direct sales, online writing for upfront or residual pay, selling high-demand items online at E-Bay, and selling items on consignment. Use unneeded items to have a yard sale or invest in fast sale items and go to a swap-meet a sale your items.

Step 4 Consider a career switch, and get the necessary training while you can. Jobs in health care are still growing. There are a lot of jobs that are good to have is bad times.

Step 5 Stockpile food, water, and emergency supplies. Dry goods like grains and legumes, along with canned goods, bottled water, water purification tablets, and first aid supplies should be kept on hand in case of collapse. Make sure you have a way to cook and heat water like a camp stove or BBQ Grill and have a good amount of fuel on hand, because a stove with no fuel is just junk.

Step 6 Learn to be resourceful and do things yourself. From home plumbing to growing your own food, learn to provide for your own needs as much as possible. Start now to learn how to create and tend a food garden, and consider spending time studying up on home repair and other useful skills. Hunting and fishing are great was to help put food on the table. If you have never done either find a friend or someone to show you how to fish or hunt.

Step 7 Network with friends, family, and neighbors. Build relationships within the local community so that you can rely on them - and they on you - in case of collapse. But be very careful who you trust because one mistake could cost you your life and the lives of your family.

Step 8 Learn to barter. Have on hand important goods like personal care items (soaps, razors, deodorant), non-perishable food items, tools, first aid supplies, and other necessary supplies. Consider what you know. Do you know how to garden? Are you skilled in holistic health techniques? Do you know a lot about home repair? These skills are not only valuable for you, but you can use them to barter and help others in case of world economic collapse.

Step 9 Have a gun and lots of ammo! If you have a gun then add as much ammo as you can, if you don't have a gun get one now!!!!! And learn how to use it!!!! If you have supplies and want to keep them then you will need a gun. I would say to have more than one gun. One shotgun, two handguns and two long guns would be my bottom line but it's up to you how to survive the collapse.

Step 10 Have a plan to survive and stick to it. Plan a list of needed items and work on it and plan for a stock of food and water and work to get it done. What we store now is what we live on later, so if you want to live good stock up good or if you want to live bad then stock up bad it your choice. If I were you I would do my best to survive good and have as much food as you can.

Keep your eye's open and your ear to the ground because the evil empire is on it's way and the next stop is Camp FEMA. ALL ABOARD!!!!!!! Think Smart and survive!
