Work To Do......

It's the weekend and I have my list of things I would like to get done. I have been awake sense 5:30am and on the go. My wife is with a friend today doing a craft fair. They make it sound like work but to tell the truth it's there gossip time with a little work and a lot of sitting around talking. She has fun and makes a few dollars at the same time so I'm all for it. It's the same as when I use to go to the barbershop and chat with all the old guys, but now I'm bald and have not seen the inside of a barbershop in over ten years.
Back to my list of things to do, today I plan to and have worked on my preps. I am  made three more 5 gallon buckets of food,(AND I'M NOT GOING TO WAL-MART) I got the rice and beans today at a local store and paid a little more for it but as I left the store I had a great feeling that I had done something right by not going to Wal-Mart. After the buckets I worked on the shop a little and got rid of more junk and freed up more space. Now I'm off to look for some more ammo, I hope you guys are still working on your preps. It's a little harder with the Christmas season here, but I work around it and make the best of the time I have left to prep. Don't forget to prep!!!!

Have a great weekend!!!!

  2. WOOT! Nothing like getting things accomplished. Skipping Wally World is always a good idea. Never went in ours much anyway, the never had what I needed...

  3. Hell, I never liked wally-world. I've been using a restaurant supply and Feed mills/stores for whole grains. I still shop at a local grocery I pay a dollar for food safe buckets. The buckets are a little smaller than the 5 gallon kind. They can hold 50# of salt/sugar or about 25 # of grain or rice. Plus the buckets have gasket lids. Works good for me since I'm disabled the buckets are easier to move around.
I'm working on more fruits and vegies into storage, Bottled butter, eggs, waxing my own cheese and milk.
Preserving meat and a solar power system for the RV is the goal for next year.
