It would be a good idea to cache a few 5 gallon buckets with back up gear in it. I would use a food saver and pull all the air out of the bag to save space, plus this will keep all the items dry and clean. Here is a list of items I would put into my back up buckets. You would place this cache in a place you can get to with ease but someone else would have a hard time finding.
List for a Cache
1 to 2 Buckets
MRE's for three to five days
Water for three days
Toilet paper, soap and a towel
Hand wipes and hand sanitizer
A good knife with a sharpener
A hand gun with mags and ammo
A change of clothes, Like socks, underwear, and shirts
And something to start a fire with, tinder, lighter and wood matches
Plastic sheets or a good tarp
Some kind of light, like a Flashlight
