Had a crazy weekend, but did get a few things done. I went to the Sportsman's Warehouse and now have a plan on how to use the gift cards I have left. Worked on the shop a little more and got rid of more junk I just don't need. I was on the fence about my woodworking tools but with a little talking from my wife and a little thinking on my part I am keeping most of them. I did get rid of a few items so far but what I have left I will keep. With what I have left I can still make all the little small items I have made for years. Set up my plan for food prep for the next six months. Over the next six months I would like to add 3-6 more months of food to my preps. I have a plan for adding more ammo to my preps this year. All the stores have ammo again and I am buying it one or two boxes at a time every week. I would like to get one brick of 22LR every week this year and I am off to a good start I got two boxes today and plan to get two more next week. If I can get 550 rounds of 22LR each week this year I would add 28600 rounds to my preps by the end of the year, that is if we can get to the end of this year. Who knows any more? I know I don't I was sure the Christmas shopping season would be bad, but I was wrong and the walking dead went out a used the plastic right and left. We had a smaller Christmas this year and by small I would say we went down 75% on what we spent and made better shopping choices and the kids were just as happy and we did it with all cash! We don't have a credit card, just a debt card with the Visa logo on it so we can shop on line and rent cars or fly, but we don't fly anymore. We are planning a trip to the east coast and we are 70-30 on driving and not flying, we will have to see how it goes. As long as TSA is acting like thugs I will not fly.

what's making me nervous is that the DHS is moving on to buses, train depots, hotels, etc. What, are they going to grope you before you're allowed to check in? We've totally let the terrorists win.
ReplyDeleteA couple of ideas on your food prep. I don't know your strengths or weakness but get your bulk rice flour and beans. White flour is good for 5 years and I think overlooked as a storage item. White rice and most beans are good for 25 years if stored properly and a 50 lb. has about 500 4 oz. servings. All of those items can be had for under $30.00 now. Many in-store bakeries and delis have food safe buckets that they give away or sell cheap.
